ตอนสมัยเด็กช่วงประถมจะชอบหาหนังสือตามตู้มาอ่าน ช่วงที่ปิดเทอม เอามาใช้งานด้วย อย่างหนังสือของเดล คาร์เนกี เรื่องชนะมิตรและจูงใจคน ชอบมาก ลองทดสอบกับเพื่อนดูก็ใช้ได้นะ พอโตถึงรู้ว่ามันไว้ฝึกขายประกัน ก็เลยชอบขาย และชอบจิตวิทยาการจูงใจด้วย พอมาเรียนจิตวิทยา ก็ชอบทฤษฎีพื้นฐาน อย่างมาสโลว์ เพราะว่า เอาไว้ใช้งานด้านบุคคล ในเรื่องเกี่ยวกับการให้รางวัลอินเซนทีฟ ตอนทำวิทยานิพนธ์ก็ใช้เรื่อง การตัดสินใจ เพราะชอบ โลกนี้มันมีหลายแง่มุมน่าสนใจดี เอามาไว้ใช้งาน มีข้อมูลให้เป็นฐานในการบริหารสั่งการตัดสินใจได้อย่างถึงแก่นให้ใครๆเอาไปใช้งาน ซึ่งการริเริ่ม แหวกแนวจำเป็นต้องนำมาใช้ด้วย เพราะเป็นสิ่งเร้าประการหนึ่ง ทำให้มีการนำความคิดไปสร้างงานให้แก่โลกกลมๆนี้ออกมามากมาย เข้ากระเป๋าผู้ผลิต ผู้สร้าง ที่หาขโมยไอเดียต้นแบบ ไปทำเรื่องราวขายผ่านสื่อสารพัด เช่นภาพเคลื่อนไหว โฆษณา หรือ บทความสารพัด เนื่องจากผู้นำทางการคิด มักถูกขโมยไอเดียเพื่อตลาดทุนเสมอ เนื่องจากตัวแทนความคิดคนรากหญ้าบางประเทศก็คือความคิดพื้นฐานความต้องการของคนรากหญ้านั่นแหละ ย่อมนำมาซึ่งการเคลื่อนไหวเปลี่ยนแปลงกลไกด้านการตลาด และการเคลื่อนตัวของเงินไปทั่วโลก ถ้าคิดแบบบวกก็เห็นว่าคงจะดี เพื่อจะได้สะท้อนให้โลกรู้ว่าชาวรากนั้นต้องการอะไร แต่ถ้าคิดแบบนักต่อสู้เพื่อทรัพย์สินทางปัญญาของชาติ ก็จะคิดว่าประเทศใหญ่จะเอาเปรียบประเทศน้อยๆเยี่ยงเราไปถึงไหนกันหนอ ทีมาลักขโมยความคิดของผู้นำทางความคิดไปหากินทั่วโลก เวลามีขายตราสาร ขายหุ้น ในตลาดทุนทั่วโลก ไม่เห็นคืนกำไรอย้่างเป็นธรรมให้ประเทศน้อยนี้ให้พลเมืองมีรายได้มีอาชีพ ไม่มีหนี้สิน หากินไร้พรมแดน หมดกันทีพวกยากจน เพราะพวกโกงกินคอรัปชั่นที่ตายไปหมดทั้งคนรับและคนให้มันตายไปหมดแล้วอย่างประเทศที่ติดแนวหน้าไม่โกงของโลกนี้ทั้งหลาย

ความต้องการพื้นฐานของมนุษย์ยังไม่ได้ ก็อย่าไปหวังว่าเขาจะอยากได้เกียรติยศชื่อเสียงเป็นเกียรติปรากฏแก่วงศ์ตระกูล เพราะบ้านไม่มีจะอยู่ข้าวไม่มีจะกิน ร่อนเร่พเนจรไม่มีครอบครัว,ญาติพี่น้องให้พึ่งพา ไม่มีการรักใคร่ เคารพให้กัน ไม่มีความปลอดภัยในชีวิตทรัพย์สิน เหล่านี้รัฐและเอกชนไม่อาจช่วยเหลือให้ความต้องการพื้นฐานบรรลุ ก็อย่าไปหยิบยื่นสิ่งที่เป็นนามธรรมที่ดลบรรดาลแก่จิตใจขั้นสูงให้มากมายในระดับสูงเลย

ตอนที่ทำวิทยานิพนธ์ทำเรื่องเกี่ยวกับความต้องการชั้นสูงสุดของมนุษย์คือปณิธาน aspirationดูมันนามธรรมมากจับต้องยาก แต่มาทำงานมวลชนสักพัก ภายใต้คุณธรรมที่เรียกว่า่่ความเมตตากรุณา ทำให้นึกแปลกใจเหมือนกันว่า งานนามธรรมที่จับต้องยากนี้ ก็มีส่วนราชการทำอยู่เหมือนกัน และทำได้อย่างยอดเยี่ยมด้วย ก็เลยอยู่มาเรื่อยๆสักพักเพื่อเป็นกำลังใจให้ และทำงานให้ตามที่สามารถ เพราะ เคยทำแต่งานวิชาชีพเฉพาะทางที่ต้องมีพระราชบัญญัติคุ้มครอง ก็เลยปรับตัวยากมาก แต่ก็ทนๆเอา เพราะมาตรฐานเขาหลากหลายแบบสหวิชาชีพจริงๆ คล้ายงานของสหประชาชาติ ที่มีคนบ่นว่า ไม่ค่อยถูกใจเท่าไหร่ แต่ก็ทนๆเอาเหมือนกัน

ช่วงนี้มีเรื่องแปลกเยอะ เหมือนมีผีพวกการเมืองมาผลักดัน ดูดาวประหลาดมาก อย่างวันนี้ เกิดคราสพระจันทร์แดงเชียว วันก่อนๆดาวเสาร์ก็ย้ายไปแล้ว ไปอยู่ตุลย์เห็นแล้วก็อ่วม เพราะมีดาวรออยู่คือศุกร์ เล็งอังคาร พร้อมกับดาวเกตุ โดยมีพฤหัสโยกหน้า พยายามพลิกวิกฤตให้เป็นโอกาศอาจจะรอดนะเนี่ย รวมทั้งประเทศและประชาธิปไตยของเราด้วย แม้คราสจะมา แต่มืดแป็ปเดียว ไม่เหมือนตอนเราเกิดมันเป็นแรมสิบห้าค่ำ มืดถาวร ราหูไม่ปล่อยง่ายๆ จนกว่าจะข้ามไปอีกสิบห้าว้น หนึ่งเดือน อะไรแบบนี้ แล้วจึงเพ็ญ ก็สว่างแจ่มจรัส พระจันทร์ก็เป็นเช่นนี้แหละ มืดบ้างสว่างบ้าง ดูลึกลับอึมครึมดี น่าติดตามใช่ไหมเล่า

n today’s post we will be discussing one of the key theories that you need to know for the ASWB bachelor’s social work exam. Abraham Maslow (April 1, 1908 – June 8, 1970) researched and created this theory by studying people who were in the top 1% healthiest people in his community, and world known influential people. He study the healthiest instead of those that are would be considered dysfunctional, because studying those considered dysfunctional would lead to a dysfunctional philosophy.

He came to the understanding that there are basic needs that must be met before one is able to focus on learning. These needs are so important that no one can survive without them.

One thing you will need to remember for the social work exam in regards to Maslow’s is his hierarchy of needs. Maslow’s Hierarchy pyramid’s foundation starts with Biological and Physiological needs. A human being can not function well without water for example, so these needs are critical for human survival. Just like the Egyptian and Mayan pyramids ,without a strong and secure foundation all other steps based on top of it will not hold/prevail.

ex.) Clothing/Shelter/Education, like passing the social work exam

The second step from the bottom on the Hierarchy is Safety Needs. Once people don’t have to worry about their basic survival needs they yearn and focus more on protection from injustice as well as their financial needs. They seek fairness and order in the world. When they feel free from danger, (and can be comfortable) they are able to learn more about their environment and reach out to others.

The next stage of the pyramid is Belongingness and Love Needs. When people are about to feel comfortable about connecting with others, they feel that they have a group to belong too. They also feel that they can reach out to the experts in their lives/community to promote learning. In this stage groups, clubs, social work exam study groups, and activities are important. People can meet others that have the same types of interests as they do. Feeling connected and loved by a community helps build a healthy self esteem as well as self-appreciation.

The fourth stage is Self-Esteem Needs. Once a person has found their place in groups they discover activities that they love to do. By doing this they are able build up their self esteem. For the social work exam you should know that Maslow called these four stages of the pyramid “deficiency needs”/”d-needs”. Although physical needs are apart of the “d-needs”, physiological needs are NOT. If the “d-needs” are not meet, the body would not even consider to focus its motivation on higher level of needs, such as spirituality. The person will feel anxious and tense.

The last stage you will need to recall for the social work exam of Maslow’s main five Hierarchy Pyramid is Self-Actualization. Being a Humanist, Maslow believes that humans strive to reach their fullest potential. People who look for wisdom and personal growth have mastered the other stages of this hierarchy, and are fully functional.

So what do you need to know about Maslow for the social work exam? Well in summary for a person to become fully functional, their environment must be in a healthy condition. For example a person can’t look for activity groups if they are deprived of food and water. If people are not able to grow in a healthy environment they tend to became depressed, have anxiety, and may develop a inferiority complex. This hierarchy shows that there are basic categories that must be met, before the individual will seek higher categories.

Incredibly, Premier John Brumby has announced another duck shooting season for Victoria!

It will run for 10 weeks from March 20, about two weeks shorter than normal.
The Government says conditions have improved in parts of Victoria and game ducks can be hunted sustainably. Hunters would be permitted to increase their take from last year's two per bag to five.
Victoria's wetlands are drying and becoming degraded through soil compaction, increased nutrients, weeds, grazing, trampling and erosion. Waterbird numbers are reported to be down by 82% since 1983.
As a result of the threats to wetland ecosystems, many species that depend on wetlands are now threatened with extinction. According to Birds Australia , many species, such as waders and other waterbirds, are threatened by changes to wetlands and coastal environments.

Oh, to be alive during the First Great Console War. Specs aside, SNES and Genesis exclusives fought battles on playgrounds like valiant war heroes. Now normally, Capcom was the reigning king of Disney development, having consistently cranked out quality product that did the brand justice… yet there was still one schoolyard aspiration left sorely unaddressed.

And wouldn’t you know it? This time the Genesis did what Nintendidn’t. Or at least Virgin Interactive did, and with the help of the Disney animators no less. While the SNES Aladdin fell back upon faux 3D shading and single pixel button-eyes, the Genesis version looked infinitely more fluid and expressive.

To top it all off, the Genesis version didn’t shy away from the sword-slashing aggression, whereas the SNES Aladdin seemed to prefer a Disneyfied focus on throwing apples and defensive parkour handsprings. But if you still need further proof that Sega/Virgin “got” Disney games years before Kingdom Hearts, look no further than the hidden nods found buried within greater Agrabah.

(CNN) -- The longest solar eclipse of the century cast a wide shadow for several minutes over Asia and the Pacific Ocean Wednesday, luring throngs of people outside to watch the spectacle.

Day turned into night, temperatures turned cooler in cities and villages teemed with amateur stargazers.

The total eclipse started in India on Wednesday morning and moved eastward across Nepal, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Vietnam, China and parts of the Pacific. Millions cast their eyes towards the heavens to catch a rare view of the sun's corona.

Cloud cover in some areas prevented people from fully savoring the phenomenon. Still, many were awed.

Tim O'Rourke, a 45-year-old freelance photographer from Detroit, Michigan, lives in Hong Kong but traveled up to Shanghai -- touted as one of the best spots to watch the eclipse. Watch the 'exceptional' eclipse »

"It was pitch black like midnight," said O'Rourke, standing in People's Square with what appeared to be a crowd of thousands.

"Definitely not disappointed we came. Of course it would have been much better with nice weather, blue skies. But still it was a great experience, it was a lot of fun." he said. Viewing the eclipse in pictures »

Clinton: Full disclosure with Iraqis on any talks with insurgents

WASHINGTON (CNN) — Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Friday she was only recently made aware of reconciliation talks between U.S. diplomats and Sunni insurgents in Iraq, and she promised to keep the Iraqi government informed about such discussions in the future.

“We intend to make sure the Iraqi government is fully informed of any such activities,” Clinton told reporters following a meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki. “We want a close working relationship.”

Iraqi officials said Friday they were investigating reports of the meetings, calling them a violation of Iraqi sovereignty. The reports, which detail a supposed signed agreement between the Americans and insurgents, have angered Iraqis as they seek to establish their authority in the wake of the withdrawal of American troops from Iraqi cities.

Al-Maliki said he was “satisfied” with what he heard from Clinton, who assured him the United States would not negotiate with any extremists who killed Iraqi or American troops.

Ali al-Jubouri, identified as the secretary-general of the Political Council of the Iraqi Resistance, told Al-Jazeera his group held talks with U.S. officials in March and in May and signed a “protocol to organize the negotiation process and a document that included U.S. recognition of the Iraqi resistance.”

The State Department acknowledged unspecified meetings took place months ago but said the Iraqi government knew about them at the time.

Deputy State Department Spokesman Robert Wood said Friday that the meetings were part of a wide range of U.S. contacts with Iraqis to promote political reconciliation.

“The meetings in question occurred months ago and with the knowledge of officials within the Iraqi government,” Wood said. “Having spent the past six years helping Iraq build a representative and effective democratic government, the last thing we would do is take any action intended to undercut it.”

A senior administration official told CNN that embassy officials did sign a protocol document with the group about logistics for the third round of talks. When the talks were scrapped, he said, the document was leaked.

But Clinton, who said the talks were “only recently brought to my attention,” said the State Department “did not authorize” the signing such a protocol.

U.S. diplomatic and military officials have negotiated with Sunni insurgents in the past with some success, most notably persuading Sunni tribal leaders to turn against al Qaeda, which has been cited as a key factor for the reduction of violence in 2007.

The reports of the meetings come as al-Maliki wrapped up a visit to the United States after meeting President Barack Obama on Wednesday.

On Friday Clinton held two hours of talks with al-Maliki about the future strategic partnership between the U.S. and Iraq, in which they agreed to cooperate on a wide range of issues, ranging from education to trade to tourism.
